Music and Stories for the Season

Guy listening to music looking at his phone

Thanksgiving is fast approaching, so we thought it would be fun to share a few stories and songs that you can listen to online. As you prepare for the big day, tune into this playlist we’ve put together. It might make your month even better. If you’re traveling outside of our apartment community for the holiday, share this playlist with the people you’re with or listen to it as you travel.

If you’d like to listen to something that might make you laugh, this “Thanksgiving Overture” is probably your best bet. This song is filled with hilarious lines that are sure to make you want to sing along. Send the video to friends around Manchester, NH to get them pumped up for Thanksgiving.

This next song might be the perfect one as the day draws nearer. Nothing quite sets the mood for Thanksgiving like listening to the music of the classic Peanuts movie, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. If you’re looking for great background music for when eating, this is it.

We love listening to The First Thanksgiving by Margaret Pumphrey. Enjoy this 10-minute story, which is narrated by G. Barrett. If you enjoy it, there’s a download link to the right of the screen. Save it for next year!

We also thoroughly enjoy ‘Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving, a fun children’s book that is an adaptation of the classic holiday poem. This story is about eight boys and girls who go on a field trip to a turkey farm. Get ready to smile.

To finish off this playlist, we recommend listening to “I’ve Got Plenty to be Thankful For” by Bing Crosby.

Is there a song or story that you’d like to add to this list? Share the title and a link so that we can listen. Thanks for reading the Greenview Village Blog!
